Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults follow periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
